How to START my own Blog

Want to be adventurous and start your own blog? Here is how:

Assuming you are already logged into this blog and that you are on the blog home page...click on CUSTOMIZE located in the top right corner of the page (next to your email address). Once here click on Dashboard (top right corner). Once inside the dashboard, you will see your name and profile. Directly across from your name it should say Create a Blog. From there you will need to follow the steps. The template you choose depends on you want the lay out to be. Click on view several times to see if that is what you will like.

To add fun things to your blog or delete them you need to be in Layout. Go through and delete things you don't want on there first. To add things to your blog you will need to click on Add a Gadget. Once you click on that there is a list of things to choose from. Pay attention to the left side, there is more Gadgets to choose from than the BASIC ones that are default.

If you would like to add a fun background there are several sites you can go to choose a free blog background. To make this easier keep your blog page open in the Layout section.
For starters try http://www.thecutestblogontheblock.com/. You can google free blog backgrounds and find more. Once you are there, choose free backgrounds then blogspot backgrounds. The sky is the limit here!

1. Once you have chosen one you like, click on the picture.
2. Scroll down to where is says, Copy & Paste this code.
3. Now, you want to copy all that code by using your mouse to select the text. After you have selected it, right click on your mouse and choose copy.
4. Go back to your blog.
5. Click on Add a Gadget.
6. click on Add Gadget and then choose HTML/JavaScript by choosing the plus sign
7. Place the cursor in the Comment section.(Just click the mouse in there) Now right click on the mouse and select paste
8. Once you have been successful in that click, Save. Do not Title this!

Select View Blog and your new background should appear!

How to Comment

Want to comment on a post? Here is how:

1. Make sure you are signed in. At the top right side of the page you should see your email address on the screen. If not, click on SIGN IN. Once you have done that click on VIEW BLOG.
2. Next, there are two ways to get to the COMMENT section. You will find the word COMMENT at the bottom of the post. You can also bring it up by clicking on the Title of the Post and will give you the option to comment.

How do I Post?

Once you have logged into the account you will be in the dashboard. You need click on VIEW BLOG. Your email address will be at the top right side of the page followed by NEW POST, CUSTOMIZE and SIGN OUT.

1. Click on NEW POST. With your post you can be as creative as you like.
2. You will need to title your post.
3. Beneath the title, you will see all the different editing tools. Those of you familiar with Word will now exactly what they mean. To change the font, click the down arrow and choose a different font. To change the size of the letters click the TT down arrow. If you want to bold your lettering click on the b. To italicize your letters click on the little i. You can change the color of your font by choose the T with colored squared. If you want to check your spelling click on the ABC with the check mark.

To add a picture: Click on the square with the mountain on it. (It is next to the ABC check mark). From there it will ask you to upload the picture from either your computer or a web address.

If you would like to preview your post click on the word Preview located in the upper right. When you are happy with your post, click on Publish Post (located bottom left). If you would like to label your post that would be great too.
